Interpretation Services

Our on-site interpretation services are handled by professional, experienced, and certified interpreters that possess a high level of proficiency in their language pair(s) and subject matter expertise (SME). This means that the interpreter(s) can effectively participate in both technical and non-technical conversations, from one-on-one meetings to large international scientific conferences.

We offer both consecutive and simultaneous modes of interpreting. For consecutive interpreting, the speaker pauses after every few sentences in order to allow the interpreter to interpret, and so forth. This mode of interpreting is most common for business meetings, interviews, legal depositions, etc. For simultaneous interpreting (also known as “conference interpreting”), the interpreter interprets nearly simultaneously with the speaker, without pausing. Both modes of interpreting involve highly specialized skill-sets, detailed short-hand note taking, and years of practice and experience to master.

For on-site interpreters, whenever possible, we assign interpreters who are local to the client’s location so that they can easily meet the client at the requested location, as well as keeping time and travel costs low. We also utilize interpreters with specialized backgrounds, such as medical, legal, and social services.

For highly specialized or sensitive subject areas, clients can also call our toll-free access line in advance to schedule a call, so as to ensure that you are connected not only with a highly skilled interpreter, but also an expert in a particular technical field, such as a certified paralegal to interpret for a legal matter or an expert in business/finance to facilitate a complex international business negotiation.

We also offer Video Remote Interpretation (VRI) services. VRI combines the convenience and lower costs of over-the-phone interpreting with the advantages of being able to see the interpreter in real-time.

As with over-the-phone interpretation (OPI), no special equipment is needed. You simply need to log in to our proprietary client portal, select the language needed, and you will be connected with an interpreter within a matter of seconds.

In addition to providing our video remote interpretation services in more than 150 foreign languages and dialects, we also offer VRI for American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation. All of our ASL interpreters are certified by the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID). We also offer Video Remote Interpretation (VRI) services.
